Rust Pond

Named for Colonel Henry Rust of Portsmouth who acquired land here in 1767, Rust Pond is supplied by pristine mountain springs and streams, crystal clear and wonderful for swimming. It is 239 acres and 40' deep.  With very limited public access, the lake is quiet and peaceful.

The waterfront has a nice large clearing with a shady and sandy upper level and a sunny and sandy beach. There is a new large cedar dock with steps into the water and a floating swim dock. In addition to swimming and relaxing, our guests will be able to enjoy the use of five kayaks, five stand-up paddleboards, a canoe, and two sunfish. The south end of Rust Pond is shallow and sandy, a nice spot to swim and play in the water. (Note: The beach is private land!) Fishing here for Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Perch, and Pickerel is fun and often successful!

All amenities at the Grey Shingles Camps waterfront are included in our rates!
